Meridian Education Foundation

The Education Foundation envisions Joint School District No. 2 Schools to be a place where the students have additional classroom innovative and creative resources to support their educational and occupational endeavors.  We need your help.

The Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 and donations made through this site will be tax deductible.  You may make donations using the PayPal donation button or print 2011 Donation Form and mailing to the address printed on the form.  In the comments please direct how you would like the donations designated.

Thank A Teacher 
Wondering what to get that special teacher for the holidays?  Consider a donation to The Education Foundation designated to your child’s  teacher.  He/she can use those funds during the 2011-12 school year to purchase supplies, field trips, and anything else they might need.  Teachers benefit but so do you (check out the benefit page) the tax credits are great.  To donate to your child’s teacher please go to the PayPal button or print 2011 Donation Form and mailing to the address printed on the form.  In the comment put your child’s teacher’s name.  What a great way to say THANK YOU!

Library Fund
The Libraries in the Meridian Schools need your help!
It costs about $5,000 a year to keep Elementary School Libraries up dated.  Currently, school libraries DO NOT receive any money from the state.  The only way that libraries get new books is through donations. If you want to help bring the love of reading to children please go to the Pay Pal button or print the 2011 Donation Form and mailing to the address printed on the form. In comments direct your donation to a library of your choice or to the general library fund.

Caring & Sharing Fund
Many Children in the Joint School District are only one utility bill payment away from being homeless.  Help us help these families stay in their homes so that their children can have a continuous educational experience.  To help families pay the rising costs of electric and gas bills please go to the Pay Pal donation button or print the  2011 Donation Form and mailing to the address printed on the form. In the comments direct your donation to Caring & Sharing.

Free Lunch Gap 
Children moving into this district that qualify for the free & reduced meals often go a week without lunch until they are qualified for the program.  Many teachers and cafeteria workers help pay for these children to eat.  To help feed these children please go to the Pay Pal button or print the 2011 Donation Form and mailing to the address printed on the form.  In the comments direct your donation to Free Lunch Gap.

Computers for Kids
Used computers are being refurbished for  school aged children to have in their homes.  These computers often help children learn english as well as the curriculum.  It costs about $45.00 give a child a computer with speakers.  If you would like to help get more children up-to-date with electronics please go to the Pay Pal button or print 2011 Donation Form and mailing to the address printed on the form.   In the comments direct your donation to Computers for Kids.

REDUCTION IN EDUCATION SPENDING!

Many teachers in Joint School District No. 2 have wishes for their classroom: from pencil sharpeners to iPads.  How can you help!  Go to “I Wish For My Classroom” and scroll through the many requests.  If there are any wishes that you would like to fund, the entire amount or just a portion of the amount, click on the Paypal Donation Button or print 2011 Donation Form, and mailing to the address printed on the form.  In the memo section specify where you would like your donation directed.  It’s as simple as that!
